Stronghold 1 Matches

Great FFA game between **Stanas, ZeroAPM, and me** on a **Limited Rules KoTH map**, with no base attacking, economy attacking, or lord killing. I spent most of the early game heavily sieging ZeroAPM, but later had to shift pressure onto Stanas because he had a forward tower close enough to hit the middle keep. After sustained treb and cata pressure, Stanas eventually ran out of gold and couldn’t keep up with the repairs and management, forcing him to abandon the tower. That gave me the opening to retake the keep. Their first major attack caused me to take a big loss, so I had to regroup and rebuild a larger army. Fortunately, I had already run the timer down quite a bit, and I was able to send in another strong wave, retake the middle, and hold the keep until the timer hit zero.

Great tournament game between Milan, Ahmed, and aemwu. Milan opened with a very fast economy, going from apples quickly into bakeries, while Ahmed followed a similar route and aemwu went for very early military production after mostly starting with apple farms. Even though Milan looked strongest economically early on, aemwu was first to secure the middle keep and held it for a large portion of the game. Milan and Ahmed eventually built up enough troops, siege, crossbows, and archers from the towers to push him off, with Ahmed then taking control and holding the King of the Hill keep for long stretches. Milan had a few moments where he took the middle, but he could not maintain it long enough, likely because he was completely new to the map. Near the end, Ahmed and aemwu were both around 8,000 points remaining, but after Ahmed lagged out again, Milan continued and seemed to be building late-game momentum before the timer ran out and aemwu secured the win.

Fun little FFA with the new guys. Swix basically played a 2vs1.

GG. WP. ZeroAPM, NoPatience, and Sir Nigel played a strong 3-player FFA KoTH tournament match. ZeroAPM did a great job staying persistent with attacks on the middle keep. Even though his economy and gold situation were smaller and weaker than Rusher’s, he kept a solid balance and continued applying pressure with shields, swordsmen, and crossbowmen. Rusher built up a much larger economy with heavy weapon production, but he struggled to keep that economy flowing into consistent troop recruitment. At several points, the armory was full, which stopped weapon workers from adding more weapons and slowed down his ability to turn production into army strength. He also had a restriction in place where he was not allowed to make catapults or trebuchets because he is considered a medium-level player in a beginner tournament. Sir Nigel had some great moments as well and showed impressive strategic movement when taking the keep. For someone still very new to Stronghold HD multiplayer, his performance was impressive. He managed to run the timer down quite a bit and made the game very competitive. In the end, ZeroAPM’s persistence paid off. He kept fighting for the middle, main

GG. WP. This KoTH FFA tournament match came down to strong fortification and persistence. Stanas built a solid position with two towers close enough to the middle keep to shoot down Turbo and Northern’s troops whenever they tried to retake control. Turbo and Northern both had a few good moments and chances to push back, but Stanas held firm. In the end, the amount of shields combined with crossbowmen and archers backing them from the towers was too much to break. Strong hold by Stanas. GG WP.

Kyle took the middle keep early, but Swix built up a decent army and was able to take control. From there, Swix fortified near the KoTH keep with towers, crossbowmen, and archers, giving him a strong hold over the center. Trooper and Kyle both had good moments and managed to take the keep briefly, but neither could hold it for long because Swix’s tower control kept applying constant pressure. Kyle also tried pushing with shields, but without anyone fully sieging down Swix’s towers, the middle remained very difficult to contest. In the end, Swix held the position long enough and secured the win.

GG. We played KoTH with No Market, and I actually had the full economy setup going this time: wheat, hops, bakeries, breweries, and inns.(I had shield restrictions) Stanas took the middle keep early and held it for a while, but I started making a comeback after putting heavy siege pressure on him and pushing him back into his keep. Eventually I retook the middle keep, kept pressure on both Stanas and Ford, and was able to bring the timer down to 0. Ford helped a bit with catapults and trebuchets, but not enough to help Stanas hold on for the win. Overall, really tough and fun game.
