What rules, settings, and maps should we use for a Medium/Expert Stronghold HD tournament?

We’re planning a Stronghold HD tournament aimed at Medium/Expert players and want community feedback before finalizing the format.

The goal is to make it competitive, balanced, and fun — not too beginner-focused, but also not only for the absolute top players.

Please comment with what you would actually want to play.

Some things we need feedback on:

Rules

• Limited Rules
• Castle Enclosure Rules
• No Market
• Standard / mostly unrestricted
• Other custom rules

Game settings

• Normal or Hard settings?
• Starting gold?
• Starting troops?
• Peace time or no peace time?
• Any settings that make games more balanced?

Maps / format

• 1v1
• 2v2
• 3-player FFA
• KoTH
• Fixed maps or player-agreed maps?
• Any specific maps you want included?

Even a simple answer like “Limited Rules + Hard Settings + 1v1” is helpful.
